I guess I prefer the muggle job with art on the side. I can count on my muggle job as a teacher to bring in the dough and health insurance and all that muggle stuff. The great thing is I can connect with kids who share an interest in anime/manga/art and other niche stuff. They like having a teacher who understands them. Students need an adult that will support them, talk to them, give them advice, and never judge them. I like being that teacher. I love art but I'm glad I didn't make a career of it. Not that I couldn't do it, but I would not enjoy someone telling me what to draw. I love drawing for me and I draw for others when I feel like it. Maybe that's selfish but I'm so busy with other things I barely have time to draw for me so when I have the time I definitely don't want drawing to feel like a chore.
Tried working from home for a year, but I somehow find it best to work in a professional studio It's wonderful to feed on the collective creative energy.
